Dillman Everette Ferguson, 85, of Marshalltown, died peacefully of natural causes surrounded by loved ones, March 3, 2012, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa. Per Dillman's wishes, private family inurnment will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, cards and memorials may be sent to the family at 716 W. Lincoln Way, Marshalltown, IA 50158.
Dillman was born June 8, 1926 in Ferguson, Iowa, the son of William Everette and Avis (Howe) Ferguson, where he was raised and educated. On December 24, 1944, he married Wanda Grace Waugh in Marshalltown and they were happily married for 55 years.
Dillman held many jobs through the years, many which involved driving a truck for 7UP, Snowgreen Produce, Doyen and Co., Corn Belt Oil, Marshalltown Community Schools, and as a Marshalltown Municipal Bus Driver. Dillman enjoyed working on crafts, tinkering, fishing and camping. Dillman and Wanda were founding members of the Marshall County Vagabond Camping Club, Good Sam's Camping Club, and he enjoyed getting together with his weekly coffee club.
Dillman was preceded in death by his beloved wife Wanda in 1999. Dillman will be missed by his 2 children, a son William Ferguson of Marshalltown, IA and daughter Treva (Len) Howrey of Manson, IA; 5 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and his sister Lucille Herrick of Boone.
