Angela Frye, age 78, of Marshalltown, passed away, Friday, June 24, 2011, at home surrounded by her loving family while under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be 5: 00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2011, with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil and Rosary service, at Estel Perrin Avey Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery. Memorial donations in honor of Angela may be directed to the family to be donated to charities of her choice. Angela was born May 19, 1933, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Larry and Helen (Callahan) Goodman. She attended the St. Joseph Catholic School in Haverhill and graduated from St. Mary Catholic High School in Marshalltown. After graduation, she was employed by Kresges Dime Store and Iowa Electric Light and Power. Angela was united in marriage to Rudy Frye August 31, 1953 upon Rudy's return from Naval Basic Training. Angela was an office manager at the Des Moines Register and Captain Clean for over 32 years. She was a full time homemaker and was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family and made them her priority in life. She loved holidays, camping at the lake, pontoon rides, winters in Florida, walking along the beach and dining out. She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church.

Angela will be dearly missed by her husband of 57 years, Rudy Frye, children; Michael (Sue) Frye, Cynthia (Kelly) Smith, Denise (Larry) Ulery, Steven Frye, Todd (Peggy) Frye, Doreen (Darren) Smith, 15 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. She joins in eternal life her parents, step-father, step-brother, and grandson, Michael Terry Frye.
