Dorothy Elizabeth Nissen, 86, of Dallas, TX, formerly of Marshalltown, IA passed away Saturday, January 22, 2011, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, January 27, 2011, at the Pursel Davis Funeral Home in Marshalltown. There will be no visitation. Dorothy was born March 2, 1924, the daughter of August Adolf and Frieda Christina Kanzok. She graduated from Marshalltown High School. She married Marshalltown businessman Cecil Hinton in 1947, and the couple had two children, Douglas Hinton and David Hinton. The couple later divorced. 1n 1978 she married Marshalltown native Lloyd Nissen, a lifelong employee of Lennox industries who had been transferred to their Dallas, TX operations.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Lloyd Nissen, two sons, David B. Hinton of Nashville, TN, and Douglas M. Hinton of Dallas, TX; two stepdaughters, Karen Kelley of Chesapeake, VA, and Kathy Nissen of GIlman, IA; seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister RoseMarie.
