Evelyn F. Tingwald, 91, of Branson, MO, formerly of Marshalltown, IA passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010 in Branson. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Pursel Davis Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 15, 2010 at Pursel Davis Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Interment will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown. Evelyn was born December 15, 1918 to Walter and Margaret (Armstrong) Root in Rippey, IA. She graduated from Rippey High School. She graduated from beauty school in 1935 and went on to own and operate her own salon for 47 years. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Tingwald May of 1941 in Little Rock, AK. He passed away in 1978. Evelyn loved playing the organ and enjoyed painting. She had a great sense of adventure and traveled after her retirement to Hawaii and trips to Europe. She loved her family, especially time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Evelyn will be missed by her four children, Ron (Marie) Tingwald of Holister, MO, Mrs. Carolyn Gummert of Altoona, IA, Gary (Vickie) Tingwald of Portsmith, MD, Dennis (Wendy) Tingwald of Des Moines, IA, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one sister, Isabelle Davison of Bakersfield, CA, She will join in eternal life her husband, Kenneth, and son in law, Johnny Gummert
