Lois Thompson, 94, of , Marshalltown, IA, passed away, October 11th, 2010, at Villa del Sol in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 15, 2010, at Elim Lutheran Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the funeral services, at the church. Interment will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown. Pursel Davis Funeral and Cremation Care has been entrusted with the arrangements. Lois was born on June 30, 1916 to Homer and Blanche (Evans) Barnhart, in Marshalltown. She graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1934. She was united in marriage to George Thompson in 1948. She was employed with Kiowa and Gra-Iron, both of Marshalltown. Her last ten years of employment was with Marshall Farm Service. She was a member of Elim Lutheran Church in Marshalltown.

She will be missed by two daughters; Marilyn (Eldon) Bills of Lake Montezuma, AZ, Sandra (Jack) Nichols of Urbandale, IA, a son; Jeff Thompson, of Las Vegas, NV, six grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, one sister, Ruth (Ross) Hayes of Las Vegas, NV, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1982, three brothers, and a sister.
