Obituary for Eugene M. Zimbeck

Eugene Marvin Zimbeck was born on July 10, 1921 in Lanesboro, Iowa, the son of Samuel C. and Elsie (Widman) Zimbeck. He was raised and educated in Lanesboro, graduating from the Lanesboro High School with the class of 1937. He served in the United States Army during World War II, and during his first furlough, was united in marriage to Ardathe Faye Ruple on August 19, 1943 in Des Moines, Iowa. Following his honorable discharge, he attended and graduated from the Palmer College of Chiropractic Medicine in Davenport. He practiced in Sutherland, Iowa and Lake City for ten years, before moving to Marshalltown. He began his thirty year career in Marshalltown and retired in 1983. He was a former member of Kiwanis, B.P.O. Elks Lodge, and the American Legion.

Dr.Zimbeck is survived by his wife: Ardathe Zimbeck of Marshalltown; his children: Barb Garland of Minneapolis, MN; Gail (Charles) Collins of Indianola; Ann (Thomas) Katich of Exton, PA; Mitch (Ramona) Zimbeck of Marshalltown; and Jon (Kathy) Zimbeck of Powell, OH; brother: Paul (Iola) Zimbeck of Rockwell City; and eleven grandchildren: Justin (Katie) Hayes, Jessie Hayes, Cody & Coleman Moore, Nicole & Rob Katich, Alicia, Hannah & Adam Zimbeck and Ben & Megan Zimbeck.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Howard and his wife Erma Zimbeck.
