SARA A. ZEDNICHEK
AFTON, IOWA

Sara A. Zednichek, 98, passed away on Sunday, July 8 at the Afton Care Center in Afton, Iowa. Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, July 13 at 2:00 pm at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 12 from 12 noon to 5:00 pm at the Pursel Davis Funeral Home in Marshalltown.

Sara was born on March 12, 1909 in Grannes, Norway, near Stavanger to Gustav and Bertha (Tjentland) Dyvig. She came with her parents to the United States on September 3, 1910. She graduated from Le Grand high School, marrying Fred Zednichek on June 22, 1929 in Marshalltown. Sara worked for Younkers in downtown Marshalltown and later for Fisher Governors for 25 years. She was a member of the Grace Methodist Church in Marshalltown.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred in 1961; a son, Robert; three sisters, Bertha, Olga and Martha and two brothers, Racine and Gehard and dauter-in-law Helen Zednichek.`1
