Roberta Batesole, 97, of Marshalltown, entered into eternal life, Monday, April 9, 2012 at Bickford Assisted Living in Marshalltown while under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Private family inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Memorial donations in honor of Roberta may be directed to the YWCA. Pursel Davis Funeral and Cremation Care is entrusted with arrangements.
Roberta was born in Marshalltown May 31, 1914, the daughter of Robert and Pauline Parks. She was united in marriage to Dale Batesole in 1934 and they lived in Missouri for 30 years. She returned to Marshalltown in 1968 and was employed at McGregor Furniture Co. for 20 years. Roberta was member of the Marshalltown Garden Club, American Legion Auxiliary, YWCA, the YMCA Craft Class and was a volunteer at Grandview Nursing Home.
Roberta is survived by her daughter, Virginia Pailes of Morgantown, WV, granddaughter, Catherine Anne (Phil) Mathews of Potomac, MD, grandsons, Bill (Nichole) Pailes of Wallis, TX, and Robert (Georgie) Pailes of Ft. Myers, FL., seven great grandchildren; Olivia, Jack, Alexia, Hallie, Madison, Siena, and Ronan. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
