Lorna A.  Ehrig
Lorna A. Ehrig, 82, of Gladbrook, IA entered into eternal life Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Villa Del Sol, in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Peace United Church, in Gladbrook. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 6, 2012, at Estel Perrin Avey Funeral Home, in Marshalltown. Interment will be in Crystal Cemetery, in rural Gladbrook. Lorna was born June 23, 1929 in Tama County to Eddie and Laura (Busch) Luethje. She was united in marriage to Leonard Ehrig on June 24, 1950, in Gladbrook. He died in February of 2007. Lorna was a homemaker. She was a member of Peace United Church, where she was an Afternoon Guild member, an Adult Fellowship member, and sang in the choir. She volunteered as a soloist at church, the nursing home, and in the community. Lorna was also an AMVET Auxiliary member holding several offices. She was a State Hospital Hostess for the Iowa Veterans Home for 13 years and a IVH volunteer since the end of WWII. She received the IVH Commandant Award in 1988 and the Governors Volunteer Award in 1989. She was a seamstress by trade, volunteering at MMSC and the IVH. Lorna was a lover of Big Band music.

She will be missed by her three children, Linda (Bob Rush) Perkins of Marshalltown, Bruce Ehrig of Marshalltown, Joyce Rawley of Texas, a granddaughter, Michelle (Jay) Grobe, two great grandchildren, Ryan and Leah, a brother, Loren (Marge) Luethje of Gladbrook. She was preceded in death by her husband.
