Condolence From: Verla J. MacCanon
Condolence: You may not know me. Mildred Blink and I moved into Embers the same day over four years ago and became very good friends. I drove her several times to visit "Benny" at Bickford Cottage and Glenwood Place. Another connection I had was with my daughter, Jan Mitchell, who was the high school coach for Jennifer Demmon who was competing in an oratorical contest with the American Legion. Benny and "Mid" traveled with Jennifer to several states as Benny was oratorical contest director for the local Legion and past commander of the Iowa American Legion. It was a Joy when Jennifer won an $18,000 scholarship for being the national winner. Now "Benny " has come to the end of his earthly journey. My sympathy to the family.

Condolence: To the Blink family, I am sorry to hear of Benny's passing. He was a great man. I first met him in the late 70's in his shop when I started working with my father. I always enjoyed the visits with him. May he rest in peace.
