Betty JoAnn Tenney, 78, of Laurel, IA, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2011, at Westbrook Acres, in Gladbrook, IA. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 29, at Pursel Davis Funeral and Cremation Care, in Marshalltown , IA. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Interment will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown. JoAnn was born April 11, 1933 in Marshall, Arkansas, the daughter of Augustus W. and Wilma B. (Bunch) Biggs. She moved to Iowa in 1942, graduating from Marshalltown High School. JoAnn worked at the Iowa Veterans Home for 17 years as a nurse’s aide. On July 29, 1987, she was united in marriage to Jack Tenney in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. She was a member of Laurel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed singing and reading novels.
JoAnn will be missed by her children; Dale (Linda) Patterson of Kingsport, TN, Timothy Patterson of Des Moines, Mark (Peggy) Patterson of Newton, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, sister, Mary Jane (Biggs) Luethje of Gladbrook, brothers; John (Chris) Bonnette of Dubuque, Jerry (Patty) Bonnette of Galena, MO, and Donald (Jane) Bonnette of Stuttgart, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Junior E. Patterson; and husband, Jack Tenney on August 27, 2000.
