Condolences

Condolence From: Sherrrie Adler
Condolence: I had the wonderful privilege of meeting & staying with my Great Aunt Vera & Great Uncle Ted for a night or two in Iowa back in the 70's. Oh what wonderful memories I have of them both! I especially remember both of their wonderful laughs! I also especially remember Vera being so loving and kind at one particular time when I was very afraid that there might be a tornado. :0 Great Aunt Vera told me, "Oh honey, don't you worry about those. We've gotten so used to those, we have them all the time and they just pass." I felt as though nothing scared her and I sure felt better. I believe she had a great trust in the Lord. I look forward to the day when I meet both Vera and Ted in Heaven! Looking forward to the great reunion! To think of it...they have already seen the face of Jesus! I am praying for God's peace & comfort upon all the family. ~Sherrie Adler

Condolence: Dear Linda, Ted, Kate and Caleb,
Gene just forwarded notice of Vera's death a few days ago. I know her to be a good woman who raised loving, giving children; a woman who tended her home well and contributed to her community. She lived a very long life and I hope she felt it time to enter a new life.

Vera reminds me of lines from a Wendell Berry poem, The Satisfactions of the Mad Farmer.

"...the work of feeding and clothing and housing, done with more than enough knowledge and with more than enough love, by those who do not have to be told..."

Please know I am thinking of U4, Jay and family, and the family Steven made. Shortly, Vera's service will begin and I feel myself there with you all at Honey Creek.

Much love,
Diane

Condolence: About 35 years ago my son, Pad and his mother, Diane, met and become very good friends with Linda Cutler. Linda was a stimulating and entertaining assistant mom to Pad. Vera and Ted were grandparents in training - caring, patient and loving. Always loved Vera's kind and warm smile. Glad our families crossed paths. Thinking of your family at this time. Gene

Condolence: I'm glad that people have pictures of loved ones on this site that way if by chance we meet and have a ''chat'' with someone who for just a moment touched our lives we want family members to know.I shop at fairway and I was trying to decide if I wanted to buy some honey .Being a diabetic you have to watch things . Vera was there ''just to get out a bit'' and she didn't want to sit with other ladys waiting for the embers shuttle she liked her quiet time .In 5 minutes she shared little stories and a bit of her self she was strong in her faith as the humbleness the softness and yet the grace of gods presence showed in her actions and just in a isle in a grocery store. It was enough to share our visit with my partner and sister at dinner..She had to have been truly one of a kind ...Oh she said to get the whipped honey it lasts longer and tastes better lol..Just wanted you to know my story

Condolence: Dear Linda & family: I just knew that something had happened last week, as I saw you hurry out, but, I didn't want to ask. You look so much like your mother, and what a kind gentle lady she looks. Giving up ones we love are very hard, by death, or whatever. Mom's are missed be they young or older, there is no substitue for a MOM. My thoughts & prayers are with you.

Condolence: I had the distinct pleasure of getting to know Vera and Ted over many years in my practice. They both embodied what is best about true Christians and their specific beliefs as Quakers. She was unfailingly kind, thoughtful and gentle in her approach to others, and lived the word every day. It was an honor to know her, and while I am sad to see she is gone from this world, she has earned her place in heaven.
