Obituary for Ann C. Keyser

Ann C.  Keyser
Ann C. Keyser, 87, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012, at the Iowa River Hospice House in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 3, 2012, at First Congregational Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m., until the time of the services at the church. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. Pursel Davis Funeral and Cremation Care has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorials may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Marshalltown or Iowa Rive Hospice.

Ann was born in Elgin, Illinois and then moved to Chicago with her family. She became active in music and theatre and graduated from the city's schools. After graduating from Drake University, she met John Keyser and were married in 1947. They returned to Chicago where she taught school and her husband practiced Law. In 1952 they came to Marshalltown. Ann was a teacher at Central Junior High School and MCC. After four years, she became active in Civic Affairs. Being elected president of the League of Women Yeters, then accepted the position of the first Artistic Director to reactivate the Community Theatre. She directed five productions including three musicals. Ann was President of the MMSC Auxialary, Community Theatre Broad of Directors, and a member of the Congregational Church.

Ann is survived by a son John, and a Nephew Charles O'Malley (Toni). Her parents, husband John, sister Louise O'Malley wait for her in Paradise
